TESTING INFORMATION
US BioTek utilizes different testing processes to provide robust panels which utilize different collection methods. Depending on the panel you order and the sample type, different technologies will be utilized.
Testing technologies utilized for STI testing include:
-
The Nucleic Acid Amplified Test Polymerase Chain Reaction (NAAT PCR)
The Nucleic Acid Amplified Test Polymerase Chain Reaction (NAAT PCR) is run on every panel regardless of blood collection type. Nucleic Acid Amplified Tests enable sensitive detection of low-density viral and parasitic infections through the amplification of specific DNA or RNA sequences providing options for both qualitative and quantitative results

-
Enhanced Chemiluminescence Immunoassay (CLA)
Serum samples utilize the Enhanced Chemiluminescence Immunoassay (CLA) technology provides lower detection limits with a wide dynamic measuring range.
-
Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA)
Dried Blood Spot samples utilize the Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) technology which is an established immunological technique widely used to detect the presence of specific antibodies or antigens in the blood.
