No, continue to use hormones as prescribed by your physician.
Current hormone medications don't need to be stopped before collection unless your provider specifically advises otherwise. The timing relative to your last dose does matter however (it varies by whether you're using creams, patches, troches, or injections/pellets.) Additionally, there are also same-day guidelines around diet and activity that can affect result accuracy.
For the full breakdown, view the collection instructions for a specific test.
Yes, for pre-menopausal women.
Timing depends on the length of your cycle. Normal cycles collect on days 19–21, with adjusted windows for long, short, or irregular cycles.
Post-menopausal women and men can collect any day.
Yes.
DHEA-S is included in the EndoInsight profile, listed under Primary Androgens alongside DHEA, Androstenedione, Androsterone, Etiocholanolone, Testosterone, Epi-Testosterone, DHT, and 5a-Androstanediol.
It's also included in the SexInsight profile, listed under Other Primary Hormones alongside DHEA, Testosterone, Total Cortisol, and Pregnanediol.
Yes, cortisol is measured across several hormone tests, though the collection method and frequency differ by test.
The AdrenoInsight and EndoInsight profiles both measure free cortisol at 4 points across the day (Morning, Midday, Afternoon, Evening) via dried urine, along with Total Cortisol and Total Cortisone.
SexInsight measures a single Total Cortisol value rather than a 4-point breakdown.
Cortisol Awakening Response (CAR) measures cortisol via saliva at 6 points (Waking, +30min, +60min, Midday, Afternoon, Evening), specifically to capture the cortisol spike right after waking.
It depends on the test.
Cortisol Awakening Response (CAR) uses saliva samples collected at 6 points across the day.
The AdrenoInsight, SexInsight, and EndoInsight profiles use dried urine samples collected at multiple points across the day.
