Billing Specialist

We are a growing laboratory in Shoreline with a wonderful group of employees and have an immediate opportunity for a full-time onsite Billing Specialist to join our dedicated team.

This role will report to our Assistant Controller and perform all daily billing functions. Successful candidates will be self-motivated, detail-oriented and possess strong communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES include:

• Perform all daily billing functions within integrated systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all transactions
• Process payments on invoices and billings promptly and with a high degree of accuracy.
• Respond to billing-related inquiries from patients and practitioners via phone and email in a careful and courteous manner
• Conduct routine collections activities, follow up on overdue accounts, and communicate with customers regarding outstanding balances
• Prepare and distribute invoices, credit memos, and payment receipts to customers through email and other channels
• Proactively troubleshoot and resolve unique or complex billing situations as they arise
• Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail correspondence as part of daily office operations
• Provide timely and accurate responses to billing questions from internal departments
• Complete special accounting projects and additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Accounting or 1 year of experience in a billing specialist role.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Enterprise, MS Office and SQL databases.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well collaboratively and independently.

SCHEDULE: Day shift, Monday – Friday, starting around 7 or 7:30 am.

Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
