* Food allergies made girl's school life miserable
Chloe is a five-year-old girl with a diagnosis of Asperger syndrome. She is extremely intelligent and reads at a 4th grade level. She is also hyper-vigilant with an exaggerated awareness of her surroundings. She can be extremely defiant and can emotionally blow-up, to the alarm of those around her. She started kindergarten this year, and problems in the classroom motivated her parents to search for help.
We used the 96 General Food Panel, IgG antibody test from US BioTek Laboratories to rule out foods that may have been aggravating her behavior. Within weeks of starting her new diet, ChloeÕs teachers reported that her need for time out in the Òthink chairÓ had decreased from four to five times a day to one time out per week. Rather than having three or four bad days at school she occasionally had an episode. Her parents observed similar improvement at home. Now Chloe is getting more out of school because she can follow directions. She can also respond appropriately when activities change and is interacting more successfully with her classmates. We decided to test her sister, and both parents, to eliminate any stigma Chloe might feel about not eating certain foods. She immediately memorized her family's food sensitivities and is now the food cop. Her parents pack her school lunch and her snacks, and dietary compliance at school has not been difficult. Chloe is motivated to continue her diet because she can see a difference in her behavior and in how her brain functions.

* Boy discovers his favorite foods are a menace
Jeff had a hard time with his schoolwork. Oftentimes homework became an all night affair. He had difficulty focusing his attention on his assignments long enough to get any of it done. Jeff was easily distracted from anything else going on around him, and he struggled to organize his tasks, often losing things needed for the task at hand such as his pens or books or the assignment itself. I constantly needed to remind him to check his homework assignment list and bring home his books. Keeping track of, and turning in, his assignments when they were completed were a constant challenge. He, and I, would frequently become frustrated when he forgot. He loved baseball and excelled on the playing field, but getting Jeff to practice or to school on time was a challenge. He would lose track of time and forget to pack things halfway out the door, or he would need to make a trip to the bathroom when it was time to leave. Practice aside, Jeff complained of being tired all the time. After practice, he would often go to Subway for sandwiches, but after that Jeff would come straight home feeling fatigued and needing to take a nap. I knew a growing, strapping boy needs sleep, but these naps seemed too regular. His friends around him were not doing the same thing. Jeff suffered from stomach upsets frequently, especially from foods that contained milk or cheese. He loved milkshakes but would be frequenting the bathroom all night if he had one. He would often be running late for school or other activities because he needed to use the bathroom at the last minute before leaving. Milk always seemed to upset his bowels, giving him diarrhea. I decided to have my son tested for food sensitivities. The test was easy enough: one finger stick for a whole blood sample. It took about five days for the results to arrive, and when we got them we were both rather surprised. He was highly reactive to two staples that he ate every day - milk and wheat. Jeff's food antibody report revealed high IgG reactions to dairy, sugar and wheat. My son was intrigued by his results and took the initiative to eliminate dairy, wheat and sugar from his diet, cold turkey. "I want to feel good and physically fit, and to better myself," Jeff said. "If it's going to make a positive difference, I want to change my diet." No more milkshakes or Subway sandwiches to start with. For breakfast, Jeff would substitute soy milk in his cereal, have oatmeal instead or wheat-free waffles. Interestingly, by end of the first week of eliminating these foods, his stomach upsets were non-existent as was his previous bowel problems. No more feeling fatigued and needing frequent naps. His capacity for concentration also completely improved over the weeks. Jeff was able to sit down and easily focus on his homework. He didn't need my poking and prodding to get his tasks done. I no longer had to worry about checking his homework assignments, or even his class progress. His school performance shot through the roof, and by the end of the term his GPA had gone from a 2.7 to 3.8. He consistently earned five A's and a B on average. Personally, I have noticed a 180-degree change in my son. He is self-propelled with school, confident and much easier to relate to. For Jeff, his 4,000-watt, high-powered smile says it all.

* Severe Eczema: A patient of Dr. MJ had experienced severe eczema on the face, arms, chest and legs of one year's duration. Hydrocortisone creams provided no relief. Identification and elimination of the patient's reactive foods as listed on US BioTek's test report brought complete resolution of symptoms.

* Chronic Conditions: A patient of Dr. DH was affected by chronic conditions of eczema of 25 years duration, psoriasis of 15 years duration, digestive upset over entire life, and severe depression of 10 years. Patient became 100% symptom free after identifying and eliminating allergenic foods from the diet as identified through US BioTek's Food Antibody Assay. Patient no longer takes anti-depressants or other mediations.

* Chronic Headaches: “Patient had been experiencing chronic headaches for 7 years (since age 6), at least 3-4 times weekly, with severe stomach pain and vomiting lasting up to 12 hours. He was too incapacitated to remain in formal school and the mother had been home-schooling him. He had significant fatigue with a very rapid pulse (95-109 resting). He had been seen by multiple physicians, prescribed multiple drugs, chiropractic therapy, and neurological workups with no success. Three out of four of the foods he was eating showed both strong IgE and IgG reactivity as identified on US BioTek's Food Antibody Assay. After food elimination, headaches completely ceased, nausea and vomiting went from a near daily problem to twice the first month and none thereafter. Energy has improved and his once to twice-weekly nosebleeds have disappeared. As you can imagine both he and his mother are very delighted.”

Dr. RT.

* Back Pain: “Patient presented with back pain, chronic headaches, depression, fatigue, and prior diagnoses of reactive arthritis, IBS, and fibromyalgia. US BioTek's Food Antibody Assay was ordered and the results of the test were discussed with the patient. After eliminating the reactive foods as identified on the report from her diet, and implementing the rotation diet, in addition to other nutritional interventions, she now feels and looks fantastic. The transformation was phenomenal!”

Dr. SK.

* Severe Eructations: “Patient presented with severe eructations and IBS of thirty years duration, unresponsive to any treatments. After removing the reactive foods as identified on USBT's test report from her diet, IBS has cleared and eructations have been reduced by 75%. Also, patient has lost twenty-five pounds of excess weight!”

JA, ARNP.

* Headaches: “It was only when I used the allergy testing from US BioTek Labs that I got to the root of my patients' twice-daily headaches. She had had prior allergy testing, but US BioTek's approach of testing the blood for delayed food reactions allowed us to locate the less obvious culprits. After removing those foods from her diet, the headaches of many years just stopped.”

* Chronic Cough: A 48-year-old woman with a ten-year history of chronic cough, which had not improved despite a variety of treatments, sought intervention through food allergy assessment from US BioTek Laboratories. Her food allergy panel revealed elevated antibodies to dairy products, shrimp, corn, barley, oat, sesame and rice. Among the fruits she reacted strongly to were banana, grape and pear. She also showed a moderate reaction to egg white. By following the customized Elimination and Rotation Diet Guideline provided with her lab report from US BioTek, she improved dramatically with complete remission of her symptoms.

* Autism: A ten-year-old boy with autism presented with a positive stool culture for Candida albicans. Also, food allergy testing revealed elevated antibody levels specific to dairy, egg, and gluten. The child was advised to avoid all allergenic foods and supplemented with essential fatty acids (EFA's) and probiotics. After two months, the child's practitioner reported great improvement in this young boy's mental condition from following the Elimination and Rotation Diet Guideline provided by US BioTek Laboratories.

* Constipation: A 35-year-old gentleman suffered from constipation, muscle pain, lingering infections, nasosinusitis, and chronic fatigue. A blood test through US BioTek Laboratories revealed elevated antibody levels specific to egg. After two months of avoiding egg, and following the dietary guidelines from US BioTek, he reported considerable improvement and relief from his symptoms.

* Explosive Diarrhea: A 32-year-old man with a long history of explosive diarrhea sought help from many gastroenterologists to no avail. Apart from blood studies, he went through multiple endoscopies and biopsies. The biopsy reports invariably came back as non-specific findings consistent with irritable bowel disease. The last gastroenterologist he saw suggested that he be tested for food allergies by US BioTek Laboratories to assess for immediate and delayed reactivity to foods. His allergy results revealed that he was highly allergic to egg white and gluten. From following the customized Elimination and Rotation Diet Guideline, he reported to his doctor much relief from his symptoms, which only recurred upon further exposure to his reactive foods.

* Migraine Headaches: Constant migraine headaches plagued a 55-year-old woman. Headaches had been the bane of her life for several years, and at 31 years of age she had to quit her job due to the debilitating pain. At age 50, this woman became suicidal and was diagnosed by a psychologist as melancholic. Her food allergy test results through US BioTek, revealed elevated antibody levels specific to dairy, gluten, honey, and coffee. She was advised to avoid the allergenic foods and was given EFA supplements along with probiotics, and a hypoallergenic GI restoration product. After one month, her debilitating migraines ceased, and have not recurred since. Also, her psychologist noted a much improved mental status and outlook on life.

* Dermatitis: A serious case of dermatitis, mainly on the arms, had tormented a 14-year-old girl for many years. She also complained of “heavy” headaches and a state of near constant fatigue. Dairy, cucumber, and strawberry were all associated with elevated antibody levels, as assessed through US BioTek's food allergy testing. She was placed on a customized Elimination and Rotation Diet Guideline and supplemented with EFA's. After two months, her headaches were completely gone. She began to once again feel strong and able. After four months the skin on her arms had become smooth and bright. She remarked that she had never owned such beautiful skin before!

* Dermatitis: A five-year-old girl with serious dermatitis and frequent ear infections was found to have immediate and delayed reactivity to dairy, egg, beef, lamb, and gluten through food allergy assessment by US BioTek. She was instructed to avoid the allergenic foods, treated with probiotics (Lactobacillus acidophilus), and supplemented with EFA's. After one month the dermatitis resolved, and after three months the frequency of ear infections diminished significantly.

* Chronic Middle Ear Infections: An eight-year-old girl with chronic middle ear infections, inflammation of the throat, insomnia, hyperactivity, and dermatitis, was found to have elevated antibody levels specific to dairy, egg, cucumber, and watermelon through food allergy assessment by US BioTek. She was advised to avoid all allergenic foods. The dermatitis and ear infections decreased considerably after three months. After four months she was less hyperactive, and her quality of sleep had greatly improved.

* Insomnia: The parents of a one- year- old boy sought help for their son who had the problem of waking every two hours at night since moving to a new town. Physical examination of the child revealed a normal, healthy little boy. A food allergy panel was ordered through US BioTek to rule out food allergies as a possible etiology to this child's problem. The results showed a strong delayed-type hypersensitivity to dairy products. Upon withdrawal of dairy products from his diet, the child was able to sleep throughout the night in less than a week's time. This problem did recur however, from accidental ingestion of dairy products.

* Intestinal Distress: A 40-year-old female presented with a nine-month history of intestinal distress involving diarrhea, nausea, gas, fatigue, backaches, insomnia, and periodic numbness of her fingers. A full GI investigation proved negative. She stated that her stools were like “mud”. US BioTek food allergy testing revealed a strong delayed hypersensitivity to almond - her favorite snack. The elimination of almonds from her diet resulted in the quick resolution of all symptoms.

* Frequent Illness: A child who developed reasonably well for the first two years started to experience a series of frequent illnesses including gastroenteritis, conjunctivitis, rhinitis, recurrent attacks of bronchitis, urticaria and constipation. US BioTek food allergy testing revealed the presence of severe delayed and immediate allergies to dairy products and egg. Following the removal of these offending foods from his diet, the child regained his health and no longer needed the care of his practitioner.

* Esophageal Reflux: A 40-year-old female presented with a lifetime history of esophageal reflux and nausea often to the point of vomiting. Her many visits to gastroenterologists proved futile, as they were unable to diagnose her condition. She also had a history of anxiety, alternating constipation and loose stools, rosacea, fatigue, low libido, multiple chemical sensitivities, and upper respiratory infections. Allergy test results through US BioTek revealed elevated antibody levels specific to dairy and egg. Reflux and nausea fully resolved within two days of removing dairy and egg products from her diet. In addition, her anxiety lessened, stools normalized, and her energy level and libido improved. Her multiple chemical sensitivities diminished in severity and the rosacea improved throughout the following year.

* Asthma: The parents of an asthmatic child sought medical help for their son through food allergy testing. His food allergy report from US BioTek revealed serious multiple food allergies. After following the recommended Elimination and Rotation Diet Guideline from US BioTek, he was able to discontinue his asthma medication.

* Sinusitis: A 33-year-old female with a history of sinusitis, asthma, and allergic rhinitis was tested for food and inhalant allergies through US BioTek. Her inhalant panel revealed allergies to cat hair, mold, tree pollen, and dust. Her food allergy report showed an immediate hypersensitivity to dairy, mushroom, sesame, and beef. All symptoms resolved with the elimination of these inhalants and foods from her environment and diet, respectively.

* Chronic Stuffed Nose: The mother of a six-year-old girl was concerned about her child's constantly stuffed up nose, frequent yawning and fatigue. As a piano teacher, she observed that a seven-year-old student seemed rather healthy compared to her daughter. Food allergy testing through US BioTek revealed that her daughter had strong allergies to dairy products, egg, cucumber and mushroom. Implementation of the customized Elimination and Rotation Diet Guideline provided by US BioTek, resulted in major symptom improvement in a matter of weeks.

* Chronic Constipation: A 38-year-old female suffered from chronic constipation of several years. Food-specific antibodies to dairy, egg, and baker's yeast were quite elevated, as assessed through US BioTek. After one month on the customized Elimination and Rotation Diet Guideline provided by US BioTek, her bowel functions completely normalized.

* Hyperactive Behavior: A six-year-old boy had a history of serious hyperactive behavior and was more than a handful for his parents. He was often in trouble at school and had difficulty playing with other children without getting “too rambunctious”. The allergy test ordered through US BioTek showed elevated immediate and delayed reactivity to dairy, chicken, egg, cucumber, gluten, and citrus fruits. The parents were advised to eliminate the allergenic foods from the child's diet, and supplement with EFA's and probiotics. After three months, the child's hyperactive tendencies greatly improved. His teachers and classmates also noted a more sociable little boy.

* Fatigue: Four major complaints comprised the lot suffered by one 33-year-old female; fatigue, dark circles under her eyes, edema, and although she wanted to, she was unable to conceive. She was tested for food allergies through US BioTek and shown to have significantly elevated antibody levels specific to dairy, egg, corn, pineapple, banana, and others. She was advised to avoid the allergenic foods and supplemented with EFA's. Because of the seriousness of her complaints and the extent of her allergenic foods, she was also placed on an intestinal rebuilding formula. The dark circles under her eyes, edema, and fatigue all improved dramatically after two months. After five months she became a very happy mother-to-be.

* Hyperactive Behavior: AM was a previously hyperactive “problem” child at school and was diagnosed with ADHD(Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). His family took him to Dr. H where a food allergy test was preformed. The child's food allergy report from US BioTek, revealed significant elevated antibody levels to dairy, egg, gluten, wheat, and some fruit and vegetable items. Within two weeks of following the customized Elimination and Rotation Diet Guideline provided by US BioTek, his behavior dramatically improved. He now engages in constructive and directed play and pays attention in school. His appearance has also changed in a positive way.

* Eczema: This baby developed eczema very soon after birth and this became very severe when the baby was just a few months old. He was brought to several doctors and was also treated at the National Skin Center by dermatologists with no improvement. When I saw the child at the age of 1, he was covered with eczematous lesion from head to toe with obvious cracks and bleeding from the flexures of both upper and lower limbs. The child had scratched his body throughout the day and night, and it was impossible for the lesions to heal despite all the medications given to him. His food allergy profile demonstrated extreme reaction to most fish but strangely un-reactive to the traditionally recognized allergic food such as crab, lobster and shrimp. With this result it was obvious to the parents why the child could not improve as they were feeding him fish on a daily basis. Over the next few months the child registered extremely gratifying improvement with the removal of fish from his diet.

* Serous Otitis Media: An eight-year-old boy had, over the past several years, several bouts of serous otitis media. Inflammation and fluid accumulation behind his eardrums was of such a chronic nature that he needed to be intubated at least twice per year. He remained feverish with a temperature of 102°F. US BioTek's food allergy testing showed elevated antibodies specific to dairy, egg, sesame, sunflower seeds, blueberry, strawberry, cranberry, and others. He was advised to avoid the allergenic foods and supplemented with EFA's. Because of his many allergenic foods, he was also placed on an intestinal rebuilding formula, and probiotics. After staying on the Elimination and Rotation Diet Guideline and supplements for three months, his doctor could not find any abnormal fluid accumulation behind his ears. After six months, the child had not experienced another otitis media flare-up. He has since sprouted almost four inches within one year of being tested.
